I am currently working on one of my first non-tutorial renders (here's a link!) of a chessboard. To cut down on processing and RAM requirements, I have put the pieces in arrays to duplicate them (I am only using a 4-core CPU and 16 GB of RAM). However, as you can see from the black pawns, they all come out identical, and especially using a non-uniform texture, it is very apparent. Is there any way that I can keep them in an array, but alter them? I would prefer to be able to just remap the texture on each object in the array, but failing that, at least rotate them. I know this problem can be fixed by either duplicating the pieces, or just using a solid black or white texture, but I would like to see if there is any way I can keep the array configuration and still have my render look more realistic. Thank you.
