Saw bleachers last Saturday in SLC - incredible. We were 2-3 bodies back from barricade. Jack saw and made a big deal out of my 15yo’s “JUST SIZED YOU UP” sign. Palpable energy, whole band was on fire, bonus Ricky sighting! As wild and brilliant as any bleachers show I’ve seen. Even the storm/wind cancelling the last three songs felt like it was just part of the ride.
48 hours later, Denver. Admittedly the venue was breathtaking and I’d recommend everyone go there once. But tbh, the energy was so different. Hardly anyone in old concert tees, or handmade anything. No signs. Loads of people who (if I had to guess) have season tickets to RR and didn’t actually KNOW any bleachers music. It was still incredible and nice to get closure and hear Tiniest Moves and Don’t Take the Money… but I’d pick the wild anytime.
Hope y’all have a blast!
Editing to clarify - we LOVED both shows. Not trying to throw shade on RR, the band, or the crowd. It was just a very different feel - and apparently has a lot to do with where you are in the venue.
