I have an autistic son, he's 13. Other than mainstream comic book films, he has little interest in live action movies.
He is a HUGE Batman fan, and he has been so excited since the new trailer dropped. He's found the score used in the ad, and he has been searching old muscle cars to try and piece together what the Batmobile is based on, etc...
Out of curiosity, this morning I had him watch the 2049 trailer this morning. And it actually held his attention, which is extremely rare. As it isn't a subject he has chosen himself. He was relatively quiet during it. But showed excitement when Ford stepped out of the shadows, and when Batista showed up.
Afterwards he sat silent a moment and said this would be a great introduction for Batman Beyond. Batman is missing. Commissioner Gordon (Ford) is in hiding. K is searching for Batman because a new villain (Leto) is building an army.
This is what he came up with from just the 2 min trailer of 2049. And I have to admit. I thought it was Brilliant.
