If there was ever a "Director's Cut" or "Final Cut" for 2049 in the spirit of the original Blade Runner, what would you like to see/what would you change? I've only seen the movie once (Can't wait for the Blu-Ray), but I loved it. There is so much going on and so many themes they tried to tie together. There are a few things I thought could be improved but it really was a great sequel.

As for me, there are three big things I'd like to see in a director's cut:

More focus on Wallace and Luv. I thought Wallace ws really an underserved character in the movie. I didn't see any real motivation or significance to the character beyond being a crazy rich guy. He seemed a fringe player and it left the movie without any real antagonistic oomph. This also cheapened Luv's character. It would have been great to see more interaction between the two to reinforce why Luv acted the way she did and how she struggled between empathy and orders.

More information/mention/foreshadowing of the resistance. It really felt jarring to have the resistance mentioned so early after Sapper's scene only to go silent for the rest of the film (aside from one line that I know of) until the end. I just didn't get the feeling that the resistance was a big deal, though I could have missed some things.

A further exploration of K's feelings after meeting the resistance and learning more about himself. I loved the Joi Billboard scene and how it developed K, but it still felt like there was a scene or two missing between K learning about the girl and jumping in his Spinner for a showdown.

There were other small things I would change, but those are the three that I think could improve the film without changing much. What about you guys?
