No, it's deeper.

"Once Officer K leaves the city, certain themes begin to become clear. Delving into the wasteland of 2049 Las Vegas, the feminine themes of chaos reveal themselves. The feminine or the anima (in Jungian terms) has represented chaos in literature and mythology for a thousands of years. For example the Greek goddess Eris was the goddess of chaos. In Dr. Joan Relke’s article, The Archetypal Female in Mythology: The Anima and The Mother, Relke quotes Carl Jung, “The anima is ‘the chaotic urge to life’, but it is also wisdom of ‘a hidden purpose which seems to reflect a superior knowledge of life’s laws’”. This feminine theme of chaos and nature is unsurprising due to the woman’s ability to produce new life. This theme is portrayed visually in Blade Runner 2049 as giant, naked female statues in the Las Vegas Wasteland."

Close: drama and theatre arts alumni, with behavioural psychology training and an interest in representative iconography due to a love of militaria and the occult. 😎 I wish I were a teacher, but sadly a ley scholar.
