Does anyone know how to wash hair / keep hair not dry if it causes sensory pain? It needs to be done for self-care, and I don't have to wash it as often, but when I do it's really hellish. This makes it harder to wash it/make me not to bother washing it because it's painful. And using oils is an absolute no, and sprays cause a lot of discomfort. Tea tree solution/apple cider/water-y sprays seem to work, as it doesn't feel greasy afterwards. And trying to find someone who can do afro haircuts and not be judgmental about sensory issues is almost naught. However, trying to haircut myself seems difficult / family advised against it / said you need a specialist for that? I haven't really found much advice in this area. It's just a lot to cope with and frustrating that something that should be self-care and feel good just feels horrible most of the time.
