Why is dating outside your race SEEN as a problem?

Post Body

So apparently, after talking to several people, it's still seen as a weird/odd thing to do to dating outside your race. And I didn't know what was still a thing. Like the amount of men & women (in the black community & outside the community) that tell me "oh your whitewashed" or "why not try dating in your race?" or "why don't you like black guys?" or my favorite one "you must have some identity issues to not want a black man huh?"

Makes no sense to me because to me, race does not matter! If you like me and I like you then that's all that matters! You could be purple for all I care! And as a black women who is dating outside her race, I would just like to know why is it seen as weird or odd because it's not.
