Could they be right. I'm not in the industry, but I've heard it's harder for black actors who look a certain way 😒 to get mentorships, agents, commercials, writing gigs/internships, extra roles. Made obvious when you turn on the TV.

The ways of getting in the door are blocked. So when it's time to hire someone dark skinned, I'm guessing the pool is limited. And in that pool you have good actors with potential, people having off days, and people who simply don't have the range.

People talk about dark skinned black people not getting major roles. Are people in the industry having conversations about dark skinned people not getting the smaller opportunities that get more of them in the door?
