So, yesterday I was listening to one of my favorite podcast We Said What We Said with Rickey and Denzel (highly recommend) and throughout the podcast they’ll have breaks where they advertise other podcasts/promote other black creators.
I don’t normally pay to much attention to advertisements but the one on their latest episode really caught my attention.
It’s called Black Girl Songbook and its host Danyel Smith really goes into depth about tthe influence and creativity that black women music artists bring to the industry and, how they inspire other black women and the cultural landscape as a whole.
She also goes into depth about her own experience as a journalist and as a black women navigating her way through the world and coming out on top.
I will warn you it gets a little ramble-y in the beginning but as the episodes go on things really start to flow!
I don’t know if links are allowed but here’s the podcast link https://open.spotify.com/show/20Ifo2kqrmLweDY87KC0dr?si=4WKiBMEpQjSgmVuzjpGZMQ
If you have Spotify I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen!
