I was reading about how Azealia Banks plans to sue Russell Crowe, and I’ve seen a lot of people across the internet say she’s lying for clout. I know she’s super problematic, but I don’t think she’s lying either. I’ve noticed that whenever something happens to a unfavorable black female public figure, everyone is quick to call her a liar and an attention seeker. Their claims aren’t taken seriously because the general public doesn’t like them. Similar things happened to Gabby Douglas. Am I alone in thinking we should be more empathetic towards these ladies, even if they’re problematic?
