my friend’s partner’s brother died a few days ago. we aren’t massively close but are friendly with each other and we are just sentimental of each other since we are similar in a lot of ways. i’m really bad with death generally since it triggers my ocd and it’s blocking me from coming up with the right thing to say to them. i would appreciate if anyone has experience with family bereavement, what is something that you would want/need to hear from friends during the grieving process? also, feel free to say things you hate hearing and should never say to someone who is grieving. sorry for reposting across subs, i asked in ask reddit as well but just would also appreciate the opinions of people in my community, since everyone mentioned is Black. thank you <3
