Post Body

Maybe itā€™s because Iā€™m an introvert or something but I feel like a token black character in my own life (Iā€™m black and queer btw).

Two of my roommates are white and the other is poc but male.

Iā€™m like one out of two black folks at my job, and we donā€™t really interact because sheā€™s FOH and Iā€™m BOH (Iā€™ve tried talking with her before but she kinda brushes me off šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø)

Iā€™m currently taking online classes so I donā€™t really talk to my classmates or anything, and my siblings live on the other side of the country so I barely see themā€”basically I just feel incredibly lonely without deep black relationships.

Iā€™ve been trying to confront this loneliness and try and deal with it like an adult but itā€™s been really hard.

Lately Iā€™ve been thinking about joining my collegeā€™s black student club or lgbt club but Iā€™m anxious that 1. The lgbt club will center whiteness, and 2. The black student club will cater to misogynoir or homophobia/transphobia or male centric issues.

Has anyone here found a way to build relationships with other black women/black fems in this type of situation?
