Counting card with small bankroll sustainability?
Post Body

Hi all. I’ve been lurking on this sub for a few months now. I’m a college student with a tight-ish budget, playing for fun (also grocery money). I learned blackjack in November of last year, and memorized basic strategy, hi-lo, fab4, and i18 in December. I’ve been playing at my local casino since January of this year. I’m in PA, so I get 8 deck, $15 min, 3:2, S17, DAS, RSA, late surrender, double any cards. Pen is about 1.5-2 decks (sometimes when I go heads up I put the cut card 1 deck in, and they just leave it as 1 deck for pen).

I’m wondering how sustainable my long term profitability is with my current strategy. I use the basic hi-lo, fab4, i18. I started with $100, and I’ve built up to about $1000. I wong in at TC>=2, just bet the minimum, wong out at TC<-1 (or until first loss if TC<-1 but on win streak). The wonging doesn’t attract any attention since people here routinely hop in and out of shoes, and I’m betting the minimum. I don’t do any type of bet spread because of my small bankroll and the $15 minimum, unless TC>=5 where I’d bet $30 (two minimums). I usually call it a day once I reach my take profit ($100 profit off $100 buy in). Since January, I’ve been able to consistently win using this strategy, with only 4 or so net loss days because I got greedy with a bad count. I know a good portion of my winnings can probably be attributed to luck, and I estimate I’ve only really played about 800-1000 hands so far. I don’t have CVCX yet, but how sustainable do you think this strategy is? I feel like the margins in the long run are probably low, but its still ev because of the wonging. Thanks!
