Should I wait for the season to start to get into the game?

So I was watching a youtube video on a beginners guide to BDO and the youtube video was like "hey you shoudl totally make a season character" and I decided ok Ill try the game out but to my knowledge the season does not start until a couple of days on the 22nd. So basically should I wait to make a season character and make it my main or should I just level a normal character? I also have no idea what the differences are really... Any help would be great! Thank you!
