Dandelion vs Blue Awakening weapon for PVP?

Like it says in the title, I had a veteran player try to convience me to believe that a blue awakening weapon (transformed to ultimate ofc) is better for PVP than the Dandelion. For PVP that is, however for PVE he said that the Dande is better.
Now my question to you guys, what do you think about this?
ESPECIALLY considering last patch where above 245 ap you get a big dmg boost and the dande provides more ap. But even besides that, was the blue awakening weapon ever better for pvp than a dande?
