Imperial cooking, new to this. Someone help me out?

So I have a problem regarding Imperial cooking, basically I was recommended to try this many many times but never really looked into it. I know briefly how it works and how to profit from it. However the problem is that I wanted to start from something low like Honey Wine, I spent an hour changing channels to succesfully complete my first imperial trade but it seems impossible, everytime I check its already been sold too many times to the npc. Is it really that much of a struggle now for new people to start cooking? Can any of you guys that are very into cooking help me out? Thanks in advance! :).
