So I decided I hated myself enough this week to try and make 1.1 bil silver by only grinding (Reached 800m only need to grind out 300m today to reach my goal). And I want to share the experience.
Long story short, I reached 171 failstacks going to tet and instead of feeling sorry about the RNG, I said fuck it, I am going to make a shit ton of money grinding this week. I went to bandits and farmed as many hours I could everyday. Now this meant on days I was working I would grind for 5 hours and days I wasnt working I would be grinding around 12 hours. And by that I do not mean I played BDO for 12 hours, I means 6 2 hour grind sessions not including times going back to town, peeing outside with the dog, making beer and monster energy runs, rping as a fish irl to match my ingame rp, or making a list of all the poor decisions I have made in my life.
Now one item that goes completely untalked about is the item drop rate scrolls that comes from 90 day value packs. I used around 30 of these scrolls in my grind time. I noticed an increase on the scrolls I would get but really not too much of an increase on trash drop, felt like my max was 3 gahaz seals per mob. My inventory would constantly fill up with trash drops (sent to valencia via maids) and rosar items. I would get roughly 1500 seals of gahaz valued at 1,600 per 20 mins (roughly 7.2 mil and hour). On average with the item scroll I would get around 5 Scrolls in ancient language (5 mil est). Average 2 Rosar Kriegmeisters (200k each) and around 8 Miscellenaneous rosars (around 50k worth of loot after disemble). In addition to this loot I would get roughly 200 Dark Knight seals = 20 armor stones and an armor stone weapon each elite that is killed. It came to around 26 stones an hour. Which would be around 4.5 mil and hour in stones. This means on average I would be making around 17.5 mil an hour before factoring the costs of my buff upkeep, which you can put at around 500k for the sake of making numbers prettier.
So many people will question a few things on this since 17 mil an hour sounds low. I am a beserker so my clear speed is ok, not the best. My GS is 190/290 but I rock full alchemy stone, knights/junglehamburg/milktea frenzy elixers so clear speed is fine. If I was a wizard would I make more money? Potentially but not necessarily. I have 4 t4 pets, and the good thing about a zerker is I need to stand in place for around 2 seconds per group kill giving my pets enough time to loot. A wizard moving at max clear speed does not have the opportunity to pick up all of their loot, even if they can kill faster.
My best day of grinding netted me 250 mil of silver. Now to most people that seems like a crazy amount of money for a day of grinding, but it was literally a no life day of grinding. I averaged maybe around 20 mil an hour only because I got lucky with a seraphs drop from an elite. Days like this are absolutely unsustainable just due to the gaming fatigue that comes with it.
Is bandits the best place for money? No. There are better farm spots for exp and money for me but my clear speed does not make it the best money per hour for myself. Aakman temple is the best exp per hour I can get in a group, Pila Ku is probably the best money per hour with higher gs. I find areas like fogans, nagas and bashims to kind shoot themselves in the foot with 1,100 valued trash loot. If they were buffed to 1,600 trash loot they would be just as good. Cadrys is very good and equally comparable to bandits. While Pirates have decently valued trash loot, regardless of item scrolls or leveled node you will only ever get 1 bandana per drop. As someone who has spent weeks at pirates, I can safely say I went there for the exp not the money.
Bandits are always so crowded, is there a lot of pk? Not really. There are plenty of spots to grind in Bandits. There are a few main rotations, but even the side paths you will make good money per hour. Most people will just farm through you if you are slow or enter there grind spot. And generally if you keep your rotation farmed fast enough, no one will pk you to steal your spot. There is some pvp over elites though, so if you have elites in your rotation kill them quick.
People claim to make 30mil at bandits, how come you made so little? I will never say that I am the fastest or more efficient at grinding and making money, but I do a pretty good job of understanding exactly how much money I am making and try to min/max that gold per hour the best I can. I don't believe its possible for the average player to make 30 mil an hour. There may be people that are crazy more effiencient with clear times and loots, but 50% faster seems a stretch, due to the fact that you will still be bottle necked by the speeds of your pets. Now I can safely say that I made 50 mil in an hour of bandits, but this was one hour out of many many hours grinding, and not the norm.
What is the purpose of this post? I see people claim they make 25-30 mil an hour and its discouraging to a lot of new players. They grind for a couple of hours and make 10-15 mil per hour and assume they are doing something wrong. There is a difference in grinding for money and grinding for experience and different spots for both. Grinding in this game should be fun to you, since chances are you will be doing it a lot. Pick a spot that works for you and make the best of it.
