Can't move with WASD

So context, I was playing with my girlfriend and we're just at the beginning of the game. Anyways after talk to an npc she was completely unable to move using WASD, but she can move with right click and mouse to click. Her key binds are set correctly and I've tried everything I can think of but it's not working... help
edit: Fixed it was completely unrelated to the game, she had pressed a "mode" button on her keyboard.
