Competition anxiety affecting performance. How do you get over it?
Post Body

I’ve got bad social anxiety and have recently got back into competing. In my competition on the weekend I basically had a panic attack and felt like I could not breathe. I have decent cardio but I was instantly completely gassed and could not initiate anything. I was purely reactive and of course my opponent took advantage of this.

There’s no way to say this without sounding arrogant but I do very well at my gym. I’m a complete shell of myself in competition.

Is the trick just to compete more often? Does anyone else have any other tips?

I’m not anxious before the match really. Or even consciously during the match. It’s physiological rather than purely psychological.

Any advice appreciated.
