I've recently changed gyms and noticed a lot of people at my new school do not wear mouthguards. This includes a lot of coloured belts - who will still go hard even without a mouthguard.
Am I being soft or is this a bad idea?
I get frustrated sometimes because I feel like the lack of a mouthguard forces me to play guard as I don't want to accidently hurt my partner. However, surely its not my responsibility to look after my partner's teeth when they don't want to do it themselves.
WBITA (would I be the asshole) If I accidently hurt my partner doing takedowns or whatnot if someone tells me they won't wear a mouthguard? Its not a matter of forgetting/not knowing they need one - legit I get told they "can't be bothered" or don't want to wear it because "its uncomfortable".
Most people in most gyms I’ve been to don’t wear one. I don’t get it.
