White belt trying to become a better sparring partner
Post Body

Second lesson today and I think I'm really bad of a sparring partner this far. I'm just trying to survive every time I roll, not trying new thing myself or letting my partner try new things either. We're all white belts in the class so I can probably stay in closed guard for most of the roll. Should I loosen up and try risky things more? Because I believe staying in one place and avoiding everything for 3 minutes or so isn't very much of a constructive roll. Also every little tip on being a good sparring partner helps because I don't want to slow down anyone in my class!
