Hello,
I started training jiu-jitsu almost 1 year ago, I'm still a white belt with 1 stripe and a woman. On the last train, I got a knee to my nose. I heard a loud crack and started bleeding. Tho, at the moment I'm doing well so I think it was just a scare and nothing serious.
It happens that a few years ago I couldn't see from one eye and got a retina transplant and I was warned by the doctor I could not get hit in the eye, or else I could go blind, since I could not do a 2nd transplant.
I got home and my family completely freaked out, telling me it was very irresponsible to do BJJ and warned that they would go talk with my professor to ask if he was responsible if I got blind again (a bit crazy I know).
I love to do BJJ, and I thought a solution would be to wear nose and eye protection. Do you think this could solve this issue? Does anyone have recommendations for head and eye gear?
Thank you.
