Defence to side control with forearm across neck.

Hi friends,
Lately I have struggled with escaping the side control of one of my partners who grips my lapel and controls my upper body by forcing his forearm across my neck. From there he attempts knee on belly or he goes north- south. He is nimble so transitions from those attempts quite easily.
Are there any specific escapes/hints/tips to deal with this grip. I’m finding it increasingly annoying to deal with as my usual side control escapes don’t seem to have much effect.
