So I see a few jokers are starting pseudonodes, presumably to demonstrate how XTnodes numbers can be inflated.
The whole point of starting XT nodes is not to have any sort of final say on the matter - nodes with no PoW can be spoofed, as these jokers demonstrated. There's a reason XT's activation condition is not "75% of reachable full nodes".
What does matter, however, is getting the attention and serious consideration of major economic actors who run nodes. Whichever side gets a supermajority of exchanges, payment processors and merchants will prevail.
In that sense, spoofing XT is pretty much like sockpuppeting... from the opposite camp. Since what we're looking for is nothing more than getting the momentum going, while we certainly discourage foul play, malicious spoofing from the other side might actually help the cause.
...all the while when actually harming the Bitcoin network by not validating before passing on tx: You're essentially pulling a Sybil on the network.
I can't think of many things more childish than this, but go right ahead.
