How to quickly spot a fake?

Happy Sunday! New(ish) to reddit. Since joining a few months ago. I have been contacted /interacted with an insane amount of shady accounts. Most, I believe have been men pretending to be women. Embarrassed to say - it took me a while to catch on and I communicated with them for a week or two & sent sexy pic of myself. They sent me pic too but I guess those were fake. What are some not so obvious ways to spot these fake time wasters more quickly?!? These ppl are truly sad.
