Why do you think that people have such a hard time believing a man can be bisexual?

I have heard so many people say that a man who is bisexual is simply "not coming to terms with being gay." As though it's impossible for a man to be into men and women.

I have also heard other people talk as though men who are bi always prefer being with men far more than women...or that they aren't into female bodies the way they are into men.

Why do you think that these thoughts that "there are no bi men, only gay men who are hiding" exist? Why is the existence of bisexual men so difficult for people to understand?
