Hey! Yeah, you! How ya doing?

Hopefully good (but if not I'll willingly help). I got a story for you. If you guys didn't know, a while back I made a post (Imma link it right here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bisexual/comments/gkr286/i_came_out_to_my_mom_d/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share). If you didn't read it and don't wanna, basically I came out to my mom and it went well. I knew it would, but it still felt sooooo good to tell her. This is an update to that (and a good one, so don't worry there).

So, ever since I told my mom, she wanted me to tell my dad. Her reasoning is that she doesn't feel comfortable holding such a secret from her husband, especially when he would find out at some point anyway, and I understand. So what did I do?

Yeah I didn't tell him. I told my mom, but I'm also just closer to my mom than my dad.

Me and my mom made a deal. If, by that Friday, the news didn't come out (pun not intended), she'll tell him in private. Again, I knew things would work out for the best, but coming out is never easy in the best of cases (well, except coming out to friends. I found that easy, but at the same time I had much less to lose if they reacted badly). When my dad was told the news, he just said that nothing changed. They did tell other members of my family, mainly one of my aunts, who told my uncle and probably my cousins who live with them, and they also told it to my grandma on my mom's side, and the grandma on my dad's side. They all had super positive reactions and it made me feel good. Nothing changed other than the fact that now my family knows full well I may end up introducing a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend...if I could ever get in a relationship to begin with, but that's not something I am focused on quite yet.

TL;DR: Now more of my family knows (still not all, but whatever) that I'm bi and showed nothing but reactions ranging from good to heartwarming.
