Monogamous people who never got to experiment with the other sex

Post Body

I have a question for people who have been in a long-term monogamous relationship, but never got to experiment with the sex different to who they are with.

E.g. a man in his 30s who has been with another guy for a decade, never got to explore being with a woman but is now realising that’s where his preference lies (maybe he told the partner years ago he’s bi, so it’s not a complete surprise).

How have you navigated a situation like this? Have you opened the relationship up? Have you been happy to ignore those desires? Have you realised you need to leave the relationship to explore that part of you?

I’m interesting in hearing how you’ve tried to make this work, and ideally would like some feedback filled with hindsight
