So, I’ve been having some issues and whatnot with my marriage. I wasn’t fully accepted when I first came out 7-8 years ago and broached the topic again recently. Lots of discussions with my wife back and forth, and she does finally accept me. Which is great, however, I’m working through the hurt still. But I finally had the ok to tell others.
My best friend of 20 years lives over 8 hours away, and I don’t get to see him often. He happened to be coming through town, and so I got to hang out with him last night. It took a while to build up the courage, but I told him my story and came out to him. He sat there for a minute and was like, “Actually, so am I. You’re the second person that knows now.” And that just blew my mind but also made me very happy. I’ve got a best friend who understands what I’m going through!
