openly gay male here and i have numerous straight male friends (who have a wife or gf) who i enjoy hanging out with and they (the male) do as well. i sometimes suspect they want to play or may be a little bi if the circumstances are right (for example if we start drinking) but i don’t know how to test that theory without jumping into the obvious. is it just me and/or a fantasy?

or could i be on to something? for example, there is a buddy i hang out with (without his gf) and after a few drinks he usually looks at me in this funny way … not sure how to explain it. but the thought of asking him a question or teasing him about something that may hint about me being down to play with him crosses my mind numerous times during those moments.

but too scared to act and mess up our friendship. thoughts?
