I see a lot of posts on here from folks in opposite-gender relationships and I’m glad to! I think for pretty obvious reasons, these pop up a lot more often. I also see lots of posts from folks about how ‘out’ people on here are and I scroll through and don’t see tons of folks like us who don’t have much choice in it lol.
But yeah I’m not trying to pit the different sides against each other! Absolutely nothing wrong with being single and bi or in a same gender relationship and bi or in an opposite gender relationship and bi. Or poly and bi! Literally all ok. And all are equally bisexual.
Just more looking for other people in my boat. We can get forgotten about because folks will just assume lesbian or gay, just like bi folks in hetero presenting relationships are assumed straight. And obviously I’m ’out’ to essentially everyone in my life when I’m marrying a woman this year who I live with and am clearly committed to. I do sometimes end up coming out as not a lesbian. (Edit: like I hate the ‘bisexual women and their boyfriends’ types memes because it IS bisexual as a woman to date a man but also because when anybody sees women kissing, they just think LESBIANS. Me and my girlfriend are bi women dating but we just look like lesbians)
Sometimes I kinda feel on an island on this subreddit just because you end up with fewer bisexuals in same-gender relationships. A lot of the posts here, while great and valuable, just don’t resonate lol.
