Bi lady married to a straight cis man. What would you call our relationship? Straight?

No matter who I end up with, a straight man, lesbian woman, bi man, queer woman, etc… I’ve always considered my relationship to be queer.

Referring to my relationship as “straight” right now just ignores the big queer elephant in the room. Me. I’m the elephant. And I’m tired of needing to shove myself and my relationship into a neat little box for the comfort of others.

Unfortunately I have bi people and straight people who disagree with me. A bi woman who is in a relationship with a woman and wants to label her relationship as a lesbian relationship won’t let up on me about my relationship being straight no matter what I say to the contrary.

For anyone wondering what my husband thinks, he hadn’t really thought about it until I pointed it out and he said it makes sense to call it a queer relationship because I’m never going to not be bi no matter who I’m with.

If YOU wanna call your relationship queer, straight, gay, whatever else… I RESPECT THAT! I’m not here to dictate how others want to label their relationship, just wishing others would offer the same respect.
