My husband and I have been together since high school. We're both 44. He just realized last year that he's bi, and I'm a very straight woman. Last night he told me he wants a boyfriend.
I know there are many people in this sub that have discovered themselves later in life after being married. Have any of you that realized your bi late in life wanted to have a relationship/experience relationships but your spouse isn't on board with your having a boyfdiend/girlfriend?
We're in therapy, both individually and couples therapy, but his desire to experience a relationship with another man has gotten stronger and we haven't had a chance to bring it up in our couples therapy yet.
For those who want to have a relationship but can't because thats not what your spouse agreed to, how do you manage your feelings. How do you mourn the loss of never getting to experience a relationship with the same sex? Do you resent your spouse?
