I am a late in life coming out bisexual. Something got brought up today, because two of my daughters are also bisexual. My adult son accepts them more than he will ever accept me.
He keeps telling me I’m NOT bisexual. I’m only doing it for clout and it’s a popular “thing” to do “right now” like it’s trendy.
So, he won’t even listen to me trying to tell him that even though I didn’t come out until 42nd an old, and I’m 45 right now, but I always had bisexual feelings. I’m a genXer and we were always taught to do the graduate university, marry - “heterostyle” and have kids (which I had 6 of them!!). I love my kids, and I wouldn’t have ever thought they would be less than positive. The child of mine is my eldest son and he keeps saying that I’m not right, saying I’m bisexual when there are “actual bisexuals out there that have gone through so much and I’m taking that away from them and I should be ashamed of myself”. And I’m separated (toward divorce) from my husband of 23 years, for other reasons - but he’s out of question and I’m a single mother.
I don’t know what I’m doing by posting this, maybe just need some support. Thank you ahead of time. I love this group and wanted to see how others have navigated things like this, if they have.
