Was talking with a straight dude from a dating app (editing to add that it was FetLife, and both the guy and I knew I was NOT seeking a relationship, if thatās relevant; im a fool shouldāve just said it was FetLife instead to a dating app) last night. I mentioned how if I ended up with a man, I want him to be bi/queer. For me, itās important because you donāt deal with the heteronormativity you get from straight guys and bi guys understand where Iām coming from regarding fetishization and people saying the all too familiar āpick a sideā or āitās just a phaseā. I want someone who understands what I go through and can sympathize.
This absolute fool then texts me AND I QUOTE: āEveryone wants a bi man. Till the man turn out to be full gay and leave them. I know several women who went thru that.ā
When I tell you I saw red, it couldāve been a battlefield. I told him that was fucking ridiculous to say, and that straight men leave women for other women all the time, and that was a stupid argument. This fool tries to backtrack and apologize for it but too late asshole, damage is done!
Then he tells me itās not fair for him to be judged out of a relationship criteria because heās not bi. Like dude, you just proved my whole damn point. I have my reasons for wanting to date bi guys over straight guys (re the first paragraph - plus Iām into the kink/group sex scene), and itās valid.
And thatās exactly why I donāt want to date straight men. It was my fault for not being more diligent about his sexuality. But hey at least we never progressed past the talking stage.
