Looking for love but don't know how to start

After a loooot of time on hold, I finally feel ready to enter a relationship, but this would be my first relationship ever and I really have no idea how to start or how "enter those DMs". I've read up on what qualities make a relationship last. Stuff like shared values and at least sharing your main pashions. I know the theory of maintaining a relationship, but I have very little knowledge on how to start one.
Any sugestions for a first serious relationship?
