Hello!
I was wondering what to expect with an IUD replacement process. Specifically, is it less painful?
About 5 years ago I got the mini Paraguard copper IUD interested and I’ll be going back to the same clinic in a couple months to get the current one taken out and a new one inserted. When I got the current one inserted all those years ago, I passed out due to the intense pain (I guess I have a low tolerance) and I’m really nervous about the upcoming appointment.
It was without a doubt the most excruciating pain I’ve ever endured, and that is coming from someone who as a child had 4 stitches done with no anesthetic.
I was wondering if I’m in for the same thing?? Or is it actually less painful than the first time??
If it’s the same - do you have any pain management/fainting suggestions that’s not “eat and take an ibuprofen an hour before”?
Do you think my family doctor can prescribe something?
Please help.
