A year into Kyleena, almost one month of spotting

So I'm not sure where else to post this. If there's better Subreddits, please let me know.

A year ago in July, I had my IUD placed. Partially for birth control, but mostly for diminishing periods. Prior to that, my periods were so irregular, extremely heavy and long, and the cramps would be so bad for the first couple days that I couldn't get out of bed. My doctor tried several variations of the pill with me, but then I broke out badly and had to go on isotretinoin as a result. She finally decided to try the IUD with me because we both agreed it would be better if I just didn't have periods, or at least very light ones.

For most of the past year I haven't had any periods. If I did, they were mostly brown spotting for two or three days.

I started my vacation the first week of July and since the first Friday I've basically been spotting and having heavy cramps again. There have been a couple days where I've had a heavier flow, but it's all brown, not red. I'm still on vacation for two weeks so I can't go see my doctor yet. I haven't been sexually active in six months, either, so I know it's not pregnancy.

When I looked this up online, the possibilities were basically like a lottery and the end result was, "well, it could be anything!" Has anyone had this happen with an IUD? Does it have to do with the fact that it's Kyleena?
