Is it possible to still ovulate on birth control?

I just realized that I have (possibly) been ovulating my whole time on birth control. My cervical mucus changes throughout the month most months and goes from clear and watery, to white and thicker, to an egg white consistency mid cycle. Is this normal at all (or even possible) and am I protected?
I take my birth control every night at the same time and never miss a pill if that’s useful at all.
