I'm 23, and I've had horrifically painful periods my whole life. Due to my chronic migraines, I'm not able to take any hormonal birth control. There is also a good chance that I'm not actually fertile (due to a long battle with anorexia), but I 100% do not want kids anyway.
I want a permanent form of birth control that will 1) protect me from the risk of pregnancy in the event that I have a viable egg left somewhere in me, but more importantly, 2) I want to never, ever have these awful cramps and unmanageable bleeding again.
My gyno keeps suggesting an IUD, but that doesn't sound like the guarantee I'm looking for. Researching on my own, endometrial ablation seems like it's closer to what I want/need. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any pros/cons? Any advice?
