Bleeding after coil insertion

I had a Mirena coil approx. 11/12 years ago. I had cramping after it was inserted, and spotting the same day.
After the Mirena I went back on the pill for a few years.
But I don’t get on with hormonal contraception. Had a copper coil fitted yesterday. Some cramping, but nothing as bad as with the Mirena.
No spotting yesterday, but today there is some bleeding. Like a light period, much more than just spotting.
Is this normal?
