I’ve had the copper IUD for 8 months now and the strings feel shorter than they originally were. I had mild mid-cycle spotting (I associated it with ovulation) and unusual cramps too. I read some studies saying that the IUD can slightly change position and relocate in the uterus in the first months, going a bit higher or lower without being dislodged and without losing its effectiveness. I wonder if anyone else went through the same. I’ll get an ultrasound done soon as my doctor asked me to do it twice in the first year of use.
