back in august of 2018 (i was 17) i got the kyleena iud and it was a game changer. i can’t remember anything traumatic of excessive relating to my period or anything. i remember it always lasted about 4 days but that’s the only symptom of menstruation that i had as far as i can remember. no cramps. when my mom found out i lost my virginity, i got backhanded and an iud.
The IUD was a game changer, even though I didn’t have anything terrible to begin with. My period completely stopped and I haven’t bled since except for spotting like once a year.
back in December 2022 i got my iud removed and replace with mirena. i did have some complications because the strings of kyleena had found their way back up in my uterus so the doctor got a little hook thing and fished them out which wasn’t pleasant but also wasn’t awful. (i only switched because my kyleena was reaching its time and mirena is approved for even longer)
since I’ve had the marina, I still don’t have a period or anything, but I have noticed a lower libido. I’ve recently been thinking of completely getting off of birth control just because I want my body to be healthy naturally. I did gain weight when I was on the kyleena which stayed when i switched iuds.
