...excuse the short rant - just feeling a little punchy today.
I've spent the last 20 years in big tech corporate work. At least once a year, whatever global team I'm on gets together for an annual kick-off or celebration of some sort. Awards are so often a part of this: -of-the-year award for this and that, and so on. I try not to get frustrated with these, because I'm not usually even a runner-up -
Where's my, if-only-you-knew-what-this-guy-has-to-manage-in-his-head-first-just-to-get-to-the-work-we-put-in-front-of-him super-hero award!?!?! I'd like to take most any top performer at work and gift them with the mental challenges I face, then see how their performance is affected.
...then again, this is my cross to bear - and they may face something stiffer... but I sincerely doubt it.
