This was taken down for breaking rules LOL but I wanted to repost it somewhere where it wonāt be deleted and I can get some more feedback.
Tbh it was the hard truth I needed to hear, but sometimes criticism is so personal to me LOL. Context here, I have been working with a suspicious of a mood disorder dx for a hot minute and Iām on my second pair of psychiatrist and therapist. Was on meds and then went kinda rogue and stopped cold turkey (bad) and when I told my therapist she acted like this was entirely impossible for me to do. Something like āwe shouldnāt be doing these yo-yo back and forth moods and going rogue with our medsā and Iām like I am not surprised at all with my actions this is a cycle for me. It caught me off guard like she hasnāt read the notes from my psych or old drs. Idk weird interaction but itās been my third session with her. At the end of the day she yelled at me and told me to contact my dr and I am selfish for āgoing rogueā because of the pandemic thereās an influx of mental illness and thereās other compliant patients that should get help and Iām putting her and my psychiatristās licenses on the line. Is this controversial to say to a patient or am I being sensitive lmao
Edit: I did make an appointment with a new therapist who has bp as a specialty. I still want to be in therapy so I found one pretty fast and given my last therapist immaturity, Iām hoping she doesnāt take this personally lmao
I think plenty have told you your therapist needs to be reported and changed, instead I'll ask you this, who requires consistent watching and attention more, the person that falls off the wagon and can lead to significant consequences from the up and down and lack of medication, or someone that is consistent with their meds and is pretty stable with their health? As a professional, I would worry more for the wild card over the one I KNOW can go weeks without seeing me and will be mostly okay because they have no issues with medication or keeping their check ins. Your therapist is out of line. And absolutely should be reported. Even if just for yelling at you.
