Seroquel and weight gain?
Post Body

Hey everyone, Iā€™ve been going in/out of a possible bipolar 2 diagnosis (for years) with it finally being confirmed after a 3 month hypomanic episode (I just thought I was being my ā€œtrueā€ self lmao).

I was very adamant on going on a mood stabilizer that wouldnā€™t make me gain weight, and my psychiatrist said in studies folks gain 3 pounds in comparison to placebo. But I donā€™t think this is true.

I had weight loss surgery in September and am now 25 pounds away from my goal (a normal BMI for my height) Iā€™m very scared of gaining weight.

I was supposed to taper up to 150 but I stayed at 100 (talking to my doctor about it next week) ecause of the drowsiness and the weight gain aspect.

I had 50mg on Monday, then starting Tuesday Iā€™ve been on 100 mg.

I do feel it working well because I donā€™t feel that amazing high/love for life and irritability I was feeling prior in the hypomanic episode.

TLDR: What has everyoneā€™s experience been with seroquel and weight gain?
