first time getting medicated— prescribed vraylar
Post Body

tldr: am currently hypomanic, got prescribed vraylar, what can I expect?

I (21NB) made a post earlier this week about going to the psychiatrist and maybe finally getting a clear diagnosis on whats going on. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 and prescribed 1.5mg of vraylar in the evening (i’ve never heard of it until now). She said it would help calm down my manic episodes but after combing thru other peoples posts on here about it, it seems more commonly prescribed for depressive episodes. my psych said it helps both. I’m nervous about the stomach problems and nausea but honestly looking forward to an increase in appetite because i’ve been disorderly eating for a few years after (unintentionally?? kind of??) starving myself during my first depressive episode. i just haven’t had an appetite since. and honestly have very little memory of ever being hungry for as long as i can remember. she also said that a side affect is apathy, am i going to lose my sparkle?

just looking to know kind of what to expect.
