I told a girl I have bipolar
Post Body

I've been talking to this woman I'm interested in for a few days. Both of us have commented on how we like honesty and strait forwardness. I wanted to be upfront with her because something like bipolar could be a deal breaker. So I told her. She didn't respond well. It wasn't get out of my face type reaction but was more of, "That's a lot to process. Let me think about it." I'm not sure what that is meant to mean. She said she appreciated my honesty in the matter.

I know this isn't a relationship subreddit, but I feel others may have some insight. Was I wrong to tell her? Should I have told her sooner? I'm not sure where this leads, and it scares me.

For a little more context, she and I met on a dating app (kinda we went to the same high school and knew each other. But I never really talked to her) We have been snapchatting for a few days, and I asked her if she wanted to go get coffee sometime. We are still talking, but I feel like it's different now.

Edit: After reading the comments, I see everyone has a different opinion on when to tell someone. That's okay. Everyone is different and has different experiences. I have learned that it is okay that I said this but that I should be cautious about if she decides to walk away. And it's okay if she does. That's her prerogative. Thank you all for all your comments, I will try to respond to everyone I can.

Edit 2: After a few hours , we continued talking and have even been talking about hanging out and going to different places around the state. I think I startled her at first, but now she seems okay and is willing to roll with it. My hopes are high!
