I will be completely honest with y'all this has been an extra shit time for me as a black person trying to cope with bipolar and still expected to go through school and work like everything is "normal".
I'm also infuriated that the stigma of mental health with black folks are still being heavily overlooked despite BLM and the huge wave of info that's surfaced due to the "trendiness" of the movement.
On another note: I thought after the US election my stress would go down more and my meds would make things more manageable again. I was very wrong.
Now it feels like things are still extremely volatile for me emotionally but I just avoid everything and everyone as a way to keep this all bottled up and "manageable" (when in reality I'm avoiding these feelings). I've been feeling like shit for the last two weeks and my next psych appointment is next Friday.
Please send good vibes that I make it until next week because currently my mental health is kicking my ass.
Update: Thank y'all for all the good vibes and support <3 I had my appointment today and am starting a new medication soon. I'll post about it separately. All the support was highly appreciated!
