Post Body

Hello! I’m bipolar/schizzoaffective and I’ve been going to therapy and taking my meds very consistently for the past few months. My employer allowed me a certain day of the week off (Wednesdays) so that I could go to therapy and such. We’ve lost someone and I guess we’re waiting to replace them, so they told me I had to work Wednesdays, the full day. Ive missed a few sessions now and I really don’t want my progress ruined.

I love my job, but I love my mental health more. I reached out to my psychiatrist and therapist to ask if they could write a form, stating that I have a disability and I need at least one day/ partial day off a week (we are only open M-F and no one does therapy on the weekends unfortunately). I don’t want to go behind my boss’ back, but I just really need these appointments.

Do you think this is reasonable? Has any of you done anything similar? What were the results?
